Want to hear what your engine’s really capable of? Swap your standard air intake for a performance air filter or car induction kit from Paramount Performance. Factory setups are built for quiet efficiency, but that can sometimes mean restricted airflow and limited performance.

A high quality, well designed performance induction kit or cold air intake system pulls in more cool, dense air, giving your engine what it actually needs. You’ll feel the difference straight away with more horsepower, a sharper throttle response and that aggressive engine note every performance enthusiast loves.

It’s one of the easiest and most effective upgrades you can make when tuning your vehicle. At Paramount Performance, we only stock the best induction kits from world-leading brands and back it all up with expert advice to help you get the most out of your drive.

Choose carefully though, many of these induction kits or cold air intakes on the market make big claims, but sadly due to poor design and lack of research and development that don’t offer any benefits, in fact some systems perform worse than the factory setup. Paramount Performance will not sell systems that are inferior to the factory product.

Why Choose a Performance Induction Kit?

If you’re after a noticeable performance upgrade without major mechanical work, start with the air intake system. A performance induction kit or cold air intake is one of the best value-for-money mods out there, if you choose carefully. It can give you more power, a better engine note and a whole new feel behind the wheel.

It’s not just about the instant performance boost either, it sets you up for future tuning if you want to take things further.

Paramount Performance have developed a range of cold air intake systems for Jaguar models. Unlike many systems, these have been developed and tested over a period of many months. Using the latest technology the team have developed systems that truly improve performance. These are premium quality products using the best quality components on the market today. Avoid inferior options that reduce power.

Benefits of Upgrading Your Air Intake System

Increased Horsepower and Torque

Upgrading your air intake with a well engineered system can deliver considerable power gains. For example the Paramount Performance system for Jaguar F-Type can deliver Up to 45% increase in airflow, resulting in up to 20 BHP increase in power and up to 30 NM increase in torque.

Improved Throttle Response

A key benefit is a greatly improved and sharper throttle response, making the car feel more alert and responsive.

Enhanced Engine Sound

Our performance induction kits produce a fantastic sound on acceleration, as demonstrated by our popular Jaguar cold air intake systems. These systems add a subtle but noticeable supercharger whine.

Aesthetics

High-quality induction kits, especially those made from materials like carbon fibre, can seriously improve the look of the engine bay.

Types of Induction Kits

Cold Air Intakes (CAI)

A full cold air intake system will replace the majority of, if not all of the factory air intake system. This includes pipes, hoses, clamps and the air filters themselves. A well selected and properly designed cold air intake system will have a much more noticeable impact on vehicle performance and sound than a panel filter.

Panel Filters

Panel filters utilise the existing factory intake system, only replacing the air filters themselves. Performance panel filters are generally less dense than factory items, thus allowing more air flow than the factory equivalent. The effect of these is less pronounced than a full cold air intake system.

Key Brands

We’ve handpicked a range of high-performance induction kits and performance air filters from top manufacturers, chosen for their quality and proven results on the vehicles we know inside out. The team supplies our own custom developed cold air intake systems and also recommend and fits K&N panel filters.

FAQs: Induction Kits

What is an induction kit?

A performance induction kit is an aftermarket intake system that replaces the sometimes restrictive, sound-proofed air filter box and pipework your vehicle came with from the factory.

Each full kit includes a high-flow air filter, smoother intake piping and all the fittings you need. Together, they boost airflow by feeding your engine a bigger hit of cool, oxygen-rich air than the factory system ever could. That means more horsepower, better throttle response and a deeper, more purposeful engine sound.

What is included in an induction kit?

The exact contents of an induction kit or cold air intake kit will vary depending on the vehicle and the manufacturer’s design choices. In general the full kit will include performance air filters, pipework and required clamps, designed for your particular vehicle.

Is it worth getting an induction kit?

Yes, if you want a noticeable, cost-effective boost in performance and sound, a well designed induction kit is a solid investment. You’ll potentially get more horsepower, sharper throttle response and a better engine note that makes every drive feel more connected.

If you haven’t already done so, we would recommend a stage 1 remap as a starting point for your upgrade journey. A high quality intake kit and an exhaust make excellent next steps.

How much bhp does an induction kit add?

The power gains can vary depending on the vehicle and the specific kit. A simple high-performance air filter upgrade might add 4-5bhp. However, a Paramount Performance custom designed cold air intake kit for the Jaguar F-Type can deliver as much as a 20bhp increase when combined with our tuning services.

Sadly, poorly designed systems can result in no gains at all, or even a reduction in power compared to factory systems, so do your research and talk to our team to find the right product for you and your vehicle.

Are induction kits legal in the UK?

Induction kits are legal in the UK as long as they don’t cause the vehicle to exceed its original type-approved emissions standards. They won’t fail an MOT for noise, but if emissions are affected or insurance isn’t updated, the car may become illegal for road use. It is highly unlikely, but not impossible that a cold air intake or induction kit will cause a vehicle to fail an emissions test.

Do you have to tell insurance about an induction kit?

Yes. You have to tell your insurance company about your induction kit because it counts as a vehicle modification. Some insurers see any change from the manufacturer’s standard specification as extra risk. If you do not declare it you breach your policy terms and your insurance can be voided when you make a claim. Your claim could be rejected, you could end up paying all costs and you would be driving illegally without valid insurance. That can mean fines and points on your licence. Any small rise in your premium is nothing compared to the financial and legal risks of not disclosing the modification. Some reputable insurance companies don’t even increase your premium for simple modifications, you just pay an administration charge for a change to your policy.

Do I need to remap my ECU after installing an induction kit?

While some kits can be installed without a remap, to get the very best performance gains from an induction kit a good ECU remap is always recommended. The remap will adjust the engine’s parameters to take full advantage of the increased airflow, maximising power and ensuring smooth delivery. That said, some ECU’s will adjust automatically depending on the level of change in air intake as a result of the changes to the system. Please speak to our experienced team to understand what the right path is for you and your vehicle.

Can I install an induction kit myself?

The level of difficulty in fitting a cold air intake or induction system varies dramatically depending on your specific vehicle, and the system you choose to purchase. For some vehicles, some of the parts may be quite inaccessible, and you may wish to have our experienced technicians fit the system for you. Systems for some vehicles are very easy to install, and can absolutely be fitted by a vehicle owner with a small amount of mechanical knowledge and confidence.
