Standard Jaguar catalytic converters have 600 cells per square inch, these original standard cats can be very restrictive in their gas flow. Paramount have developed exclusive 200 cell Jaguar XJR 4.2 Catalytic Converters . These Jaguar XJR and XJ 4.2 Catalytic Converters  and aand racing cats are integrated into a large bore downpipe, they reduce back pressure substantially and increase flow rates, they are particularly effective on Jaguar Supercharged engines, and when combined with other Paramount Performance parts can push the Jaguar 4.2 XJR past 500bhp. The Paramount Performance Jaguar catalytic converters are unique in the market. The Paramount 200 cell cats use a matrix that is EU certified and carry an “E” testing and certificate number. No other Jaguar aftermarket cat matrix we know if has been tested to be used in UK and Europe. If you are looking at other products, its worth asking if they carry and “E” certificate number – a legal requirement in the UK. They will also, as you would expect, pass a UK MOT emission test. And have been tested and proven to run over 670bhp

Performance Hi-flow Sports Cats work exceptionally well on re-mapped (chip tuned) engines. Power increase 22-25 bhp in the mid range, giving a nice boost to throttle and midrange power.

Sports Catalytic Converters, de-cat and sports cats  – Paramount Performance list a large range of catalytic converters. Some are TUV / EC approved. However, others such as the IPE and Armytrix systems are manufactured outside of Europe and so may not be EC approved. For this reason, some sports catalytic converters and all “De-cat pipes” for sale on the Paramount site are sold for motorsport and off-road use in the UK and EU, and not for road use.
