Sports Catalytic Converters, de-cat and sports cats – Paramount Performance list a large range of catalytic converters. Some are TUV / EC approved. However, others such as the IPE and Armytrix systems are manufactured outside of Europe and so may not be EC approved. For this reason, all sports catalytic converters and “De-cat pipes” for sale on the Paramount site are sold for motorsport and off-road use in the UK and EU, and not for road use. Some Aston Martin DBS drivers will want to remove their catalytic convertors, (de-cat) Whilst the physical job removing the catalytic convertor is quite straight forward (Paramount have a range of ready to use Aston martin De-cap pipes) simply removing the car will leave the owner with an orange warning light! – and in some cases a car that goes into a limp home setting – not ideal.
