Pleated vs foam
A Ramair pleated filter offers very high airflow and great filtration. Please note that dirt built up can reduce airflow overtime. Recommend cleaning intervals of 3-6 months.Filter is supplied ‘dry’ and oiling is at user discretion; however, oil is recommended when being used track, dry, hot, or very dusty conditions, as well as if exposed to open elements. Typically quieter than foam and intake noise if deeper.
A Ramair foam filter offers high airflow with good filtration. Please note that dirt build up can reduce airflow overtime. Foam construction can hold more dirt compared to pleated without significant airflow decrease, resulting in longer service intervals. The foam is washable and reusable, recommend cleaning intervals of 10K miles / yearly. Filter is supplied ‘dry’ and oiling is at user discretion; however, oil is recommended when being used track, dry, hot, or very dusty conditions, as well as if exposed to open elements. Typically louder induction sound, with noticeable ‘whoosh’ and turbo noise.
