The Paramount Performance 6V / 12V 2A Smart Battery Charger & Maintainer uses intelligent microprocessor-controlled charging to monitor, charge and maintain your battery automatically.

Suitable for 6V and 12V batteries from 1.2Ah to 120Ah, it supports lead-acid, sealed lead-acid, maintenance-free and AGM batteries, making it a useful addition to the garage for everything from weekend cars and classics to vehicles kept in seasonal storage.

Intelligent 9-stage automatic charging

This is more than a basic trickle charger. The built-in microprocessor monitors battery voltage and condition, then controls the charging process through a 9-stage automatic programme.

The charging process includes:

Automatic battery diagnosis

When the charging cycle begins, the charger measures battery voltage and assesses its condition before progressing through the charging programme. Its monitoring system can detect a number of conditions which may prevent normal charging, including:

• Incorrect connection
• Reverse polarity
• Poor battery terminal connection
• Excessive battery voltage
• Very low battery voltage
• Incorrect 6V or 12V mode selection
• A battery which fails its condition test

If the charger identifies a problem, the error indicator helps alert the user rather than simply continuing the charging process.

Automatic maintenance charging

Illuminates when the battery reaches full charge. The charger then continues monitoring and maintaining the battery.

ERROR
Alerts the user to a connection problem, unsuitable voltage, battery fault or another condition preventing normal charging.

The charger requires a battery to have at least 1.5V residual voltage before it can begin the recovery and charging process.

Why use a smart battery maintainer?

Important usage information

Always follow the supplied operating instructions and your vehicle or battery manufacturer’s guidance when charging. The manufacturer recommends that charging is supervised and battery temperature monitored during use. If battery temperature exceeds 40°C, charging should be stopped until the battery has cooled to a safe temperature. The charger should only be used in a suitably ventilated area and must not be used to charge a frozen battery. The vehicle should not be started while the charger is connected to the battery.
