A Range Rover Sport SVR is already a seriously capable performance SUV, combining supercharged V8 power with the comfort, practicality and road presence expected from a Range Rover.
For this recent project, the team at Paramount Performance took things much further, installing what is believed to be the world’s first Harrop TVS2300 supercharger conversion on a Range Rover Sport SVR.
Supported by a carefully selected package of supporting upgrades, this SVR will to produce more than 700 bhp once the final calibration and testing process has been completed.
Harrop TVS2300 Supercharger
At the centre of the package is the Harrop TVS2300 supercharger.
Designed to deliver a greater volume of air into the engine, the upgraded supercharger allows the 5.0-litre V8 to produce considerably more power and torque than it can in standard form.
The aim is not simply to achieve a large peak power figure. A well-developed supercharger package can also improve power delivery throughout the rev range, giving the vehicle stronger acceleration and a more immediate response when the driver presses the throttle.
For a large and heavy performance SUV, that additional mid-range strength can make a noticeable difference during overtaking, motorway acceleration and enthusiastic road driving.
Lower Crank Pulley Upgrade
The SVR was also fitted with an upgraded lower crank pulley.
Changing the pulley ratio increases the speed at which the supercharger operates, helping it generate additional boost pressure. This allows more air to enter the engine and supports a higher level of performance when combined with suitable fuelling, airflow and ECU calibration.
The pulley upgrade works alongside the Harrop supercharger as part of the complete package, rather than being treated as an isolated modification.
High-Flow Air Induction Kit
To support the increased airflow requirements, the vehicle received an upgraded air induction kit.
A high-flow induction system helps the engine breathe more freely by reducing restrictions before the supercharger. This gives the supercharger access to a greater supply of cooler, cleaner air and helps the engine maintain consistent airflow as power demand increases.
Benefits can include:
- Improved airflow into the engine
- Sharper throttle response
- Greater support for increased power
- A more noticeable supercharger and induction sound
Upgraded Y-Pipes
The factory exhaust system can become restrictive as airflow and power levels increase.
Upgraded Y-pipes help exhaust gases leave the engine more efficiently, reducing restrictions within the system. This is particularly important on a highly tuned supercharged engine, where increased intake airflow also results in a greater volume of exhaust gas.
Improving the exhaust flow helps support the additional power while giving the vehicle a deeper and more purposeful V8 exhaust note.
200-Cell Sports Catalysts
The SVR was also fitted with 200-cell sports catalytic converters.
These provide a less restrictive route for exhaust gases than many standard catalytic converters, helping to reduce back pressure and improve flow through the exhaust system.
When correctly integrated into a complete performance package, 200-cell catalysts can help provide:
- Improved exhaust gas flow
- Reduced restriction
- Better support for increased boost and power
- A stronger, more aggressive exhaust sound
- Continued use of catalytic converters within the exhaust system
More Than 700 BHP
With the Harrop TVS2300 supercharger, lower crank pulley, upgraded induction system, Y-pipes and 200-cell sports catalysts working together, this Range Rover Sport SVR will to produce more than 700 bhp.
The final output will depend on the completed ECU calibration, fuel quality, environmental conditions and the results recorded during dyno testing.
This is why Paramount Performance treats projects of this level as a complete engineering package. Every component needs to work together to deliver strong performance, dependable operation and predictable power delivery.
More Power Without Losing the Character of the SVR
The Range Rover Sport SVR has always been about combining everyday usability with serious performance.
This upgrade package builds on that character. The vehicle retains the comfort, space and presence of the original SVR, with considerably greater acceleration, throttle response and engine performance.
It is a package designed for owners who want their SVR to feel genuinely different, while retaining the qualities that make the vehicle so appealing in the first place.
